Aerobics | Elderly Care | Trucks | Strategic Planning | Loans | PPC :: ElAl hopes to gain 50% of the TLV-US flight market. AirTrans reach in the market about Renault returning to the US market? College Students Market Trends http://xn--ykqz1kyr0bca.comHOME | It was announced today , that ElAl will lease a Boeing MD-11, a Boeing 747-300, will reuse a freight 747-200, and will increase the use of the 747-400 by 50% in order to increase the capacity of the TLV-US(JFK,EWR,ORD,LAX) flights and get a hoped 50% of the market. This is due to the increasing competition in the market (TWA,Continental with 2 daily flight from june 20,Air Canada and many european carriers that offer short time connections), and the new airlines that will enter the market in the fall(Lambda, AA and a possible return of Tower).
So I have heard, however there FFB STINKS in regards to TLV.80,000 for upgrading,90,000 for a free coach.Heck,BA gives a free Business for 80,000,and the best food I've had in the air. Nope I'll stay with DL/AF for now,but it'll be AA/BA in 01 or 02, or AA alone if they go in with 777's and decent award levels.

ElAl did this because AA announced that they would start flying to Israel. They actually revoked the agreement by this
Its too bad el-al doesn't restart their nonstop flights to Miami. Is AA flying from JFK? Any start date?
apirchik, I know all about that thread, but AA res told me they have nothing on their computers about any upcoming service by them to TLV. I for one would love to see them go in. UPSELL fares? - FlyerTalk Forums:: I know that AS has $50/some miles for an upgrade the day of, but being able to in hopes of sale via this method, and incentivize elites to consider paying http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1061013HOME |
I think I read that they lease the planes with a complete crew. I also saw the plane in TLV and EWR.I'm flying the line again next week(with CO). I'll try to find out more when I'm there. DFW In 2009 And Beyond — Civil Aviation Forum | Airliners.net:: About 50% of the total flight is DFW Orginating to Asia. We have also been fortunate to gain a 1X to EZE and somehow sustain CCS within the past 5. http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/4261710HOME |
they changed it. it's now 30 for one way upgrade(20 for Y class). 70 for coach roundtrip and 100 for BF roundtrip
Yeah right! They should only hold their breath!
spoke to AA today and they have no imfo about opening up TLV with their own equipment, that is as far as new or expanding service thru Sept.
An Alliance with a US airline wouldn't hurt either.
Craz - switch to CO. the best flight on the line. AA won't level this.
Offpeak rewards on CO are 50K to Tel Aviv.
Boomer,
They do have a relationship with American Airlines. AA members can earn and burn miles on El Al.
I guess that all the letters and phones calls I made didn't fall on deaf ears.
However, 70 for coach is still too muh BA is 60 peak,40 off-peak(oct-may),and for another 10 you get bus which are all gonna be beds soon. But I will recheck it out again.Cant help but feel iif AA goes in since they have the same #'s as BA that CO will be forced to reduce theirs again.
One possible way for them to increase traffic from the US is to sell not only US to Israel flights, but for them to be a connecting carrier for those that want to travel further on. (ie: NYC to India via Tel Aviv). This would increase their traffic volume considerably.
The AA ElAl thing may not be that strong. I think I read somewhere that if ElAl was to start co-charing with DL, AA would walk from their agreement. ElAl with SkyTeam, an interesting thought? It seems anything may happen these days?
Apirchik, saw the MD-11 the other day at EWR.Ques. since LY(ELAL)is leasing this and they don't have any DC craft in their stable, where did they get the pilots from?
Hard to believe LY will use any pilot that wasn'tb their own due to security concerns. Then maybe they hire out pilots who are certified for the MD-11 that happen to be Israelis to get around it. do you know what they did?
