Yes there is already birth control, but Yahoo Answers is still filled with teens and preteens who get pregnant because they aren't on birth control or misuse it. This pill would be different because:

    1. it would be fairly safe
    2. it would be very effective
    3. it would prevent pregnancy in any girl until she reaches 18

Do you think it'd improve society or hurt it?

  • I think if a girl is not gonna take responsibility for her actions then she shouldn't be having sex..period!

  • That's a tough one, we can't go around telling people what to do with their bodies.

That being said, I would support it if the girl knew the risks and pros and decided it was the best decision for her. I have a daughter, and I think I would let her take it.

    Shrug, one woman's opinion. :)

  • Perhaps a better idea is a 'better-parent pill' that increase a parent's ability to:

    1) Talk to their kids openly about sex and pregnancy

    2) Monitor their kid's actions/whereabouts more closely

    3) Educate their kids about safe sex methods - including birth control and STD prevention

    4) Create an environment in their home that their kids feel comfortable enough to talk to their parents about these issues before it's too late

  • I would support it if it was optional, I would not support any state mandated birth control for any age and I think that is the worst idea ever. It would just be one more step before we started telling people who can and when they can have kids. It would just be a slippery slope that we shouldn't go down.

If it was optional and free and you could get it without your parents, I would totally support it.
